As per provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, all new intending projects (Developmental & Industrial) are required to obtain "Consent to Establish" (popularly termed as NOC) from the State Pollution Control Board. Depending upon the pollution and hazard potential of industrial activities, the industries are categorized as Red, Orange, Green, White and Exempted.

Detailed Project Report with details of Emission, Effluent, Solid waste management plan, raw materials, finished products, manufacturing process including list of machineries.

Depending upon the pollution and hazard potential of industrial activities, the industries are categorised as Red, Orange, Green, White and Exempted. There are siting restrictions for these industries. The Board, considering compliance of environmental laws by the industry, issues consent to operate to the industry.

"Bio-Medical Waste" or BMW includes any waste generated during the diagnosis, treatment or immunisation of human beings, animals, or research activities. The BMW Rules of 2016 brought down the number of categories of Biomedical Waste to 4 from earlier 8 in the previous rules that applied to BMW. The changes have eased the segregation process at the source of generation and helped organise the transportation and disposal of Bio-medical waste. BMW is now categorised into four colour-coded categories, i.e. yellow, red, white and blue.

EPR stands for Extended Producer Responsibility. As per the EPR Rules of India, EPR Registration is mandatory for producers, importers, brand owners and manufacturers that are involved in the products generating e-waste, plastic waste, battery waste or tyre waste. They need to get the EPR Certificate to compensate for the waste caused by their products in the market.

Waste batteries can always be recycled or taken to household hazardous waste collection points. To prevent fires from lithium-ion batteries, tape battery terminals and/or place batteries in separate plastic bags and never put these batteries in household garbage or recycling bins.
EPR mandates that all waste batteries to be collected and sent for recycling/refurbishment, and its prohibits disposal in landfills and incineration. To meet the EPR obligations, producers may engage themselves or authorize any other entity for collection, recycling or refurbishment of waste batteries.
